Code Enforcement Specialist
Reports to: Community Development Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Pre-Hire Requirements: This position requires successful completion of a criminal and motor vehicle record background check.
Hiring Range: $22.07 - $26.48 hourly plus benefits
Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Community Development Director, performs a variety of technical duties in support of the Town's local code enforcement program; monitors and enforces a variety of applicable ordinances, codes and regulations related to zoning, land use, nuisance housing, building codes, health and safety, blight, graffiti, water and waste, and other matters of public concern; and serves as a resource and provides information on Town regulations to property owners, residents, businesses, the general public and other Town departments and divisions. Ensures proper compliance with all department and Town values, policies, and procedures as well as applicable state and federal laws. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Required Education, Experience, and Licenses
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training and/or college level coursework in criminal justice, public administration, business administration, or other related field.
One (1) year of work experience involving a high level of public contact including some experience dealing with the public in an enforcement, inspection, investigation, or customer service capacity. Experience that includes the enforcement of municipal codes is highly desirable.
Possess a valid Colorado driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position with health insurance benefits. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Will be expected to attend evening committee meetings, special work sessions, and may assist with some evening and weekend events.
